Chopin: Ballade #1 in G Minor, Op.23, CT 2 – played by Claudio Arrau (Media file)(Piano sheet)
– I don’t have much to say, for I fear that words might exploded if used as a vessel for the impregnating emotions in this piece. My favorite ballade from Chopin. Please, please. It deserves a few minutes of your full heart and mind; what treasure doesn’t, indeed?

Chopin: Ballade #1 in G Minor, Op.23, CT 2played by Krystian Zimmerman (Media file)
– another interpretation, a better one indeed, in my opinion, for excelling in the dramatically emotional juxtaposition.

Chopin: Scherzo #2 In B Flat Minor, Op. 31, CT 198 – by Yundi Li

Chopin: Waltz #9 In A Flat, Op. 69-1 “L’Adieu” – by Claudio Arrau (Media file)
– “L’adieu” or “Farewell Waltz”. Don’t you feel the clutching hands in the recurring structure, and the muffled parting words in the achingly half-hearted climax?
